MAR CONSULTORES founded by Maria Jose Arroyo, is a respected firm of Spanish lawyers established on the Coast of Almeria in Spain in 1987. We have provided legal representation in Spain to British citizens for over 25 years and in 2014 we opened a new office in Henley-on-Thames (United Kingdom) to provide a more direct face to face service to our British clients with assets or interests in Spain.

Maria Jose Arroyo is a Spanish Lawyer, member 4610 of the Almeria Law Society, graduated with a degree in Law from Almeria University. She founded the Firm “Mar Consultores Juridicos” in 2007. She has worked since 1987 as a partner in the prestigious Spanish Law Firm Eduardo Amor & Associates.
In 2007, she founded the firm Mar Consultores Jurídicos SL, of which she is the Director and a founding partner. María José Arroyo is an expert in international inheritance and property transactions, having provided comprehensive and independent advice to over 6,000 foreign clients for more than 25 years.
She has extensive experience in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, Collaborative Practice, and Preventive Law. She holds a University Specialist degree in Civil, Commercial, and Family Mediation; is registered in the Mediators Registry of the Ministry of Justice and the Mediators Registry of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Almería; belongs to the Spanish Mediation Association (ASEMED); is a member of the Association of Collaborative Family Lawyers (ACF); and a member of the Spanish Association of Family Lawyers (AEAFA).
